This scout vehicle is one of my favorite designs. Built with a lightweight chassis, it offers exceptional maneuverability and is easy to move across various terrains. It boasts one of the highest top speeds in its class, Additionally, it features upgrade options for advanced weapon systems, making it a versatile asset in any futuristic combat scenario.

Introduction :

 

Introducing my latest 3D vehicle model, the Futuristic Scout Vehicle! Designed for a high-tech, sci-fi world, this concept vehicle combines speed and agility with a lightweight chassis, With its exceptional top speed, the Scout Vehicle is perfect for quick reconnaissance missions and rapid deployments.

Design and Inspiration :

 

Inspired by classic sci-fi movies, futuristic cityscapes, and the iconic Batmobile from The Dark Knight, this hover car merges sleek aerodynamics with advanced technology. My goal was to design a vehicle that feels both cutting-edge and functional, envisioning what urban mobility could look like in a high-tech future. This model represents level two of a three-tier progression for the vehicle.

Technical Details :

 

This model was created using 3ds Max and textured in Substance Painter. With approximately 9,000 polygons, it is optimized for top-down gameplay, featuring simple geometry that is well-suited for real-time rendering from a top down distance in Unreal Engine. I used a combination of hard surface modeling techniques to achieve smooth curves and sharp details. Additionally, I applied a PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflow to develop realistic materials and textures, ensuring high detail and visual fidelity.

Challenges and Learning:

 

One of the main challenges of this project was designing a modular mechanism that works seamlessly with four different styles or functions of the vehicle while maintaining a cohesive sci-fi aesthetic. I invested a significant amount of time refining this modular system to strike the perfect balance between futuristic technology and practical engineering. Through this project, I gained valuable experience in vehicle design and honed my rigging techniques to enhance the control systems for Unreal Engine.

Conclusion :

 

I’m really proud of how this model turned out. It incorporates a bit of that Batmobile design influence, giving it a unique look that I’m very happy with. There’s still more to come as I finalize the textures and continue working on the coding for the control system of this unit. Check out the renders below and let me know what you think!
